Pronunciations as Unique as the Name

Pronunciations as Unique as the Name
When Old Ezra Meeker put this town on the map, he said that unlike Franklin (its original name), Puyallup would be unique and wouldn’t be confused with any other town in the world. He got that right. Of course, the confusion merely drifted to the difficult pronunciation. It trips up just about anyone from out of state. Now that it’s attached to my mailing address, I find myself spelling it over the phone quite a bit … only to have it butchered in the confirmation. Endless fun! :)
